Consumer health data privacy

Effective October 25, 2026 · Version 1.0

This notice supplements the Medicine Notes privacy policy. It describes health-related information in the app, optional external searches, and your choices. The developer is Ivan Kramarchuk.

Categories and sources

You can enter medicine names, strengths, amounts, schedules, intake records, notes and supply history, or choose label photos. Apple Vision can extract text from a chosen image. An available on-device Apple model can propose a printed medicine name or short description. These local records and suggestions come from you, your selected files, and processing on your device. The developer does not receive the local journal or use it to infer a health profile.

Purpose and local processing

The app uses local health-related records to show your cabinet, journal and supply, create the reminders you choose, read labels, suggest editable text, and export or import your selected backup. These features support personal organization. The app does not sell health information, target ads, train developer models, or perform health research. It does not access location services or use a geofence around a health facility.

Optional disclosure to NLM

When you choose Search MedlinePlus, the name in the search field is sent directly to the U.S. National Library of Medicine’s MedlinePlus Connect service. NLM is an independent public information provider, not an affiliate of the developer. The app does not attach dose fields, personal intake history, notes or photos. NLM also receives technical request data such as IP address; its website policy describes web logs and approximate location. Avoid the optional search if you do not want to send that query. Opening an original guide page also subjects your web visit to the provider’s own policies.

Other recipients and affiliates

The developer has no affiliates that receive journal data. The app uses no advertising, tracking, or developer analytics service. A JSON export goes only to the destination you select; that destination may have its own processing rules. Formspree, Cloudflare and the website/email providers process support contact and technical website requests. The support form asks for your email and a message, not health information. Do not send medical records. If you include health information in a support message, it will be handled only to answer, protect, or lawfully resolve your request, and you can ask for its deletion.

Retention and choices

View, correct, export, or erase local records in the app. Archive and removed-journal flags can keep history; use permanent medicine deletion or Settings > Erase all local journal data for app-level deletion. Delete separate exports yourself. This version does not access or remove copies made by older cloud-enabled builds. External providers control their own records. No health-data sale or advertising-sharing consent is requested because the app does not use those practices.

Requests, withdrawal and appeals

Use the contact form on the Medicine Notes support page to ask about personal information the developer holds, request access, correction or deletion, withdraw permission for optional support processing, or appeal a response. State that the message is a privacy request; include only the contact details needed to answer it. The developer may need proportionate verification before disclosing information. We do not need your medicine list to verify a request. Applicable privacy rights and response periods are preserved. For Washington consumer-health-data concerns, you can also contact the Washington State Attorney General through its official consumer complaint process.

Updates

This notice applies to version 1.0, effective October 25, 2026. Changes to the categories, purposes or recipients will be disclosed before those changed practices are used. Where applicable law requires consent, it will be requested separately.
